This large Dragon & Mirror metal sculpture by Luke Kite was inspired by an idea of a mystical window gateway to ancient times of myths and legends.

It’s formed from several metals and treatments, with many fascinating designs and details from sharp claws to scaly beak and to it’s outspread wingtips, which all harmonise within the natural sweep of body and wings, and wrap naturally around a specially-treated misted mirror.

Intricate workings are everywhere, down to the smallest scales on each limb and rib, and sharp details define the dragon’s sweeping form and brooding character.  This large piece is heavy, and at 1.4 metres high lends a really dramatic imposing presence to a room.

The reflected scene in the mirror brings an extra dimension to life, especially as the viewer moves their viewpoint, as you can see in the video clip featured in the Sculptures Gallery (see menu)
