The Ragleth Raven, a metal and root-oak sculpture by Luke Kite, July 2017.
Ravens often fly around the Long Mynd Hills in Shropshire, the Ragleth Raven is a particularly fine specimen. His assertive character is reflected in every part of his carefully fashioned metal head and his stance on his perch in the trees, as he surveys the surroundings.
The carefully selected seasoned oak wood reflects the feather patterns in a very rare form, with the amazing natural patterns within the oak.
This is a large, heavyweight work of art that would create a real focus in a room, for the natural beauty of the patterned oak, the vibrant metal finish and the rich character of the whole sculpture that fully reflects the Raven’s character.
